This will be a trip of a life time to the Blue Crystal Mine which produces some of the most beautifull azurite/malachite cabing material. We will go to the mine on Wednesday and collect in a special part of the quarry for two hours and keep up to a 16 ounce cup of cutting material. Then we will go to the part of the mine that other tours collect at and collect for the rest of the day. If the weather is bad on Wednesday we will go to the mine on Thursday. If the weather is good on Wednesday we will go agate hunting in near by agate fields on Thursday. On Friday we will cut and polish three of the stones that we collect at the mines lapidary shop. On Saturday and Sunday we will make a ring, or a pendant, during a Beginning Silversmithing Class using one of the stones that we collected and cut. Clcik here for more infromation.

This will be a trip of a life time to the Broken Arrow Mine which produces a beautiful blue/gree turquoise/varasite for cabing material. We will go to the mine on Wednesday and collect all the cutting material we want. If the weather is bad on Wednesday we will go to the mine on Thursday. If the weather is good on Wednesday we will go back on Thursday. We may also go to the old famous, Easter Blue mine for a little collecting. It is not a working mine, but we can go over the old dumps and even a small piece of this material will be worth the trip! This class will cover everything important to Lost Wax Casting: wax work, RTV and vulcanized mold making and cutting, spruing (preparing the wax pattern for investing and casting), investing (making the ceramic mold), curing, burn out, casting, quenching, cleaning of casting, polishing and finishing, selling. Each student will get a copy of my Lost Wax Casting book on CD, and 10 hours of video instructions on DVDs. This is more than a $200.00 value. I will supply everything for you to cast as many things as you wish includeing the Sterling Silver for two flasks. You may bring as much of your own Silver or gold to cast as much as you wish during the five days. Of course you will be taught supplies, equipment, tools, and safety. This may be the last time I teach this class and I am only taking 5 students.

My Last Class!? I may retire after this class, except for one or two classes a year in my shop.
Denver, Colorado
I plan on teaching a four day class during the Gem and Mineral Shows in Denver. Each day we will go throught the shows and I will teach how to shop and deal for the best prices. Then we use some of our purchases to make some projects each day. I will give individual instruction to each student to work on the projectd of their choice. Projects may or may not be finished during this class depending upon what each student wants to do. I will supply the Silver for one project similar to the projects that we make in my Beginning Silversmithing Class. Students may bring as much as they wish to use on as many projects as they wish to start during the class. This class is limited to 5 students.
