2013 Mine Tours
As I slip into retirement I plan to continue to do my 5 day mine tour/Silversmithing classes. I assure you that thes trips will be a trip of a life time full of life long good memories. Each trip will consist of 5 days of fun and learning. I schedule two days at the mines (quarries) so that if there is bad weather we have better chance at collecting. If the weather is good the first day, Wednesday, then we have some choices of what to do on Thursday. We may go back to the quarry, do some collecting at another site, cut and polish our stones and then have three days of Silversmithing instead of just two. What ever we decide to do will be fun and educational. On Friday I will teach some lapidary and we will cut and polish three stones from what we collected. On Satruday and Sunday we will make a pendant, or ring, using one of these stones. I supply everything for the class. You do not need to bring anything for the class. The cost of each trip is $900.00 and includes the cost of the mine, a room for the lapidary and Silversmithing class, supplies, tools, equipment and Silver for the classes. You are responsible for transportation to the mine, lodging and food. I will be able to help with transportation for several students.
