Inlaid Box Ring
by
Don Norris
A  hollow box was first made in this shape.
Hollow band was made and then fill with over 50 small silver tubes. Copper and brass tubes were all used on this side.
Hard Solder Only
This ring was made using nothing but hard solder. Don did not want any of the solder joints to show, either by having pits in them or by them oxidizing later leaving black lines on the corners.
Propane Torch
$10.00 Propane Torch
was used to make this ring to prove that any one can afford to get started silversmithing. Expensive tools and torches are just not needed to make complex, experimental jewelry. Thousands of dollars of quality, hard solder, pieces can be made using this torch.

To make this ring even more complex and interesting the top and one edge was left open with copper, brass and silver tubes solder in placed. Coral, turquoise and Azurite tubes were then inlaid in to the ring.
